Maybe this is nerdy, but Google Analytics real time analytics is mesmerizing. It’s pretty cool to see in real time how users arrive at your site, what they’re viewing, and in general, how many people are on the site.
Here are some alternatives to Google Analytics.
I saw this on Forrst, but I wanted to spread the love. A nice ampersand is a thing of beauty (and it’s the namesake of this tumblog!).
Some really great looking plugins that I’ve not yet read about. Pagely MultiEdit Plugin looks like it could be really useful to extend WP’s use as CMS.
P.J. Onori proposes a new standard for gesture icons, emphasizing legibility at small sizes:
I believe today’s gesture icons are not hitting the mark because they lack the qualities associated with good icons. I have designed an icon system in attempt to address this issue.

While I’ll agree with a couple of commenters that this isn’t a true comparison and more of an overview, it’s a nice list of frameworks/base themes.
Diane Heller is a makeup artist who has worked with some major directors and actors. She needed a portfolio website to show off her work, as well as a way to garner new business.
Grey + yellow is one of my favorite color combinations. I think the result is a simple, modern solution.
